To be honest yoga has truly transformed my life. I started practicing yoga in 2005, seems like a lifetime ago. I have experienced so many layers of change and transformation in the last 17 years. I have had such a blessed opportunity to teach yoga for over 10 years. It has help guide and ground me through some of the hardest things I have faced as an adult, divorce and loosing a parent at the top of the list. I feel fortunate to have had yoga to lean into for those hard times. I have had the opportunity to meet and connect to some of the most inspiring and supportive people I have ever met, all because of yoga. The community that has been built up around me as a teacher is one gift I cherish the most.
I never came to yoga with any intention of sticking with it. It was a way for me to meet potential clients to train when I was a health and fitness coach. Little did I know what the universe had in store for me. Yoga has that mystic way of sneaking into your life. Before I knew what hit me, I was hooked and never looked back. If you give it the space and time it will truly change your life.
That being said, I love sharing yoga. I love offering my perspective and how to navigate the many dimensions of this practice. I have so much to share and offer and I am passionate about yoga and health. I grew up with a strong influence of being healthy from my mom. She was always working to preserve her health and move her body. I think that started something for me that I have always kept up.
I played sports growing up and I was always very physical. It never dawned on me how much it would help me later in my life in terms of my mental capacity. The things I have experienced through sports and the many aspects I feel have helped me see yoga as more than physical. I feel like yoga just fits for me. Like your favorite pair of pants. You long to wear them all the time!
I went to college and played football and studied health promotion and wellness. This journey is one I have been on for a long time. Out of college I started working with individuals on their health. Through personal training and health coaching, I did that for 10 years before I chose yoga as my main focus. I did both for a while, but the yoga was too strong to deny. I am so grateful for all of my choices. They have led me so many places and gifted some of my most cherished memories.
I have continued to study and practice and help others in so many ways. Through these trainings I hope to offer the best version of myself and all my experiences on and off the mat. I am very passionate about Teacher Trainings. I see how they can change people forever. How the experience can shift people into new places they have been longing to go on every level. I hope you consider taking this journey with me. I do my very best to honor each student and what they bring and are looking to offer and teach us all.
